KKB Chiapas Basket Becomes the First International Club Selected for the 2027 USBasket Champions League

The USBasket Champions League (UCL) is proud to officially announce the signing of KKB Chiapas Basket as the official representative of Mexico for the inaugural 2027 USBasket Champions League.

KKB Chiapas Basket becomes the first international club confirmed for the competition, marking another major milestone in the league's vision of bringing together the best professional clubs from across North America and the Caribbean.

The 2027 USBasket Champions League will feature eight elite clubs, including one representative from Mexico, one from Canada, one from the Caribbean Islands, and five clubs from the United States. The U.S. clubs will be selected from organizations competing in USBasket.com-recognized leagues, including the USBL, TBL, ABA, ECBL, MBL, TBT, UBA, and Canada's BSL.

Leading KKB Chiapas Basket into the tournament will be Mexican-American guard Aaron Perez, who has been named captain of the club.

Perez has enjoyed one of the most accomplished careers in Mexican professional basketball, spending the majority of his career in the LNBP, Mexico's premier professional league. During his career, he earned LNBP All-Star selections in 2017, 2019, and 2022.

In 2021, Perez captured the United Cup Championship with Correcaminos UAT Victoria (LNBP) and was named to the LatinBasket.com All-United Cup Second Team after averaging 15.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and shooting an impressive 51.2% from the field.

KKB Chiapas Basket is owned by Ricardo Carrasco Reyes, whose commitment to growing the game and building one of Mexico's premier basketball organizations has earned the club the opportunity to represent the nation on an international stage.

The USBasket Champions League welcomes KKB Chiapas Basket to the competition and looks forward to showcasing the very best of professional basketball from Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, and the United States when the inaugural tournament tips off in Columbus, Georgia, in July 2027.
